Question 8
What is the Mark of the Beast, according to the Beast (papacy) himself?
Bible
Revelation 14:11-12

Answer
In the Bible text above, there is a clear contrast between the saints of God and the wicked who are lost. The saints "keep the commandments" which includes the Sabbath commandment, and the wicked receive the mark of the beast and "Have no rest". The word rest is translated from the Greek word "Sabbatismos" which means a temporary ceasing from work like the Sabbath; a Sabbath rest. The wicked have no rest because they are not keeping God's Sabbath rest.
Enforced worship is the issue surrounding the mark of the beast. The papacy does claim to have a mark or sign of authority when it comes to worship. Sunday observance in place of the bible Sabbath is their mark. Enforced Sunday worship is the mark of the papacy or the mark of the beast. From their own words we read from Roman Catholic publications: (See below)
"Perhaps the bolder thing the church ever did, happened in the first century. The holy day, the Sabbath, was changed from Saturday to Sunday. The 'Day of the Lord' was chosen, not from any directions noted in the scriptures, but from the Church's sense of its own power (our mark of authority). People who think that the scriptures should be the sole authority should logically become Seventh day Adventists and keep Saturday holy." What is the Mark of the Beast? To summarize it into one sentence, that sentence might read something like this:
The Mark of the Beast is; "A sign of loyalty or allegiance to the Pope demonstrated by observing Sunday instead of God’s Sabbath at the end of time when it’s observance is enforced by a universal law that restricts buying and selling for those who won't comply with this universal Sunday law."
