Question 9
What is the best diet for man according to the Bible?
Bible
Daniel 1:12
"Test your servants for 10 days and let them give us pulse to eat and water to drink."
Daniel 1:15
"And at the end of the 10 days their features appeared better and fatter in flesh than all the young men who ate the portion of the king's delicacies."
Daniel 1:20
"And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers who were in his realm."

Answer
Rather than eat the king’s food, which was unclean, and drink the king’s wine, Daniel and his three friends chose to obey God’s word, and not defile their bodies. They proposed a ten day test. "Give us pulse to eat" they said, "and test us to see if we aren’t healthier than those who eat from the king’s table." At the end of the ten days, Daniel and his friends were tested by the king who found them fairer and healthier looking than the other wise men. The king also found them to be ten times better in all matters of wisdom and understanding than all the wise men that worked for the king. (Pulse is any food derived from a plant.)
